The Swedish-American Chamber of Commerce, SACC, has awarded Permobil AB with its Entrepreneurship Award for 2005. The award was given to Permobil for the company's successful and growing business on the US market.
The statement from the jury read: "In light of a very tough market environment, with competition from three large American suppliers, the performance is even more impressive. Quality, function, customer adoption and know how in end user needs, are the main explanation for the success. The importance of a strong focus in a single product - electrical wheelchairs - has also been significant. Finally, to sum up, a very fine example in successful entrepreneurship!"
